Before and Aftercare
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
• No alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before your procedure (i.e. decaf coffee and tea). This will prevent any excess bleeding, oozing, and minimizes swelling during the procedure.
• Avoid Fish Oil, Niacin, Vitamin E, "Hair, Skin, Nail" supplements and/or Ibuprofen, 48 hours before your procedure. All these can cause blood thinning and heavy bleeding.
• It is much better to wait until you are in good health. If you know you're going to be taking antibiotics, I recommend waiting at least 1 week after taking the dose of medication before getting your tattoo, and never attempt to get a tattoo while sick if the risk of spreading infection is high.
• Avoid sun exposure and tanning 1 week before your procedure.
• No facials or chemical peels a week before your procedure.
• No brow waxing, tinting, and electrolysis one week before your procedure.
• If possible, exfoliate the brow area a week before your procedure.
• Avoid using any Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products close to the eyebrow area 2 weeks before your procedure. Moisturizers, face washes, BB/CC creams and makeup primers may contain acid.
• No Latisse on the brow area 3 weeks before and after your procedure.
• Avoid Glycolics, Chemical Peels and Retin-A 4 weeks before your procedure.
• If you use Botox, it should be performed 8 weeks before your scheduled procedure.
• If you've had any cosmetic surgical procedures done on the face area, please wait 2-3 months to fully heal prior to the eyebrow tattoo procedure.
• Avoid using any acne products or Accutane for 1 year.
• If you plan on getting Blepharoplasty (cosmetic surgery for eyelids). We recommend get it first, and wait 3-4 months before getting eyebrows tattoo procedure.
AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT:
- Gently wash your brows for the first 3 days with Cetaphil cleanser, morning and night with lukewarm water to get rid of blood or plasma.
- Do not scrub or exfoliate your brows.
- You may shower normally but avoid hot steaming water directly onto your face. Submerging your brows with water can cause premature scabbing and leaching of ink out of your skin.
- After washing your face or showering, gently pat your brows dry to remove any moisture with a clean cotton pad or tissue paper instead of using your body towel.
- Apply a rice sized amount of ointment two times per day for 10-14 days, morning and night. After washing your face.
